Steven
Gollihugh recently attended an industry event in San Diego, California.
Although he was originally there for a work related event he decided to take
some extra personal time to explore the city. Steven Gollihugh started thinking
about the joys of traveling for pleasure. He thinks that everyone can benefit
from a probably overdue vacation.
1.
Break up your routine. A vacation is the perfect excuse to exercise some
spontaneity. Breakfast in bed can be a great start to any day, especially when
you are on vacation. Sleep until you wake up naturally. A vacation is a great
way to recharge and wake up feeling truly refreshed.
2.
Embrace a change of scenery. If you are like a lot of people you may go
to work before the sun comes up and not return home until after dark. A
vacation is a great opportunity to enjoy the daytime. The sun can do wonders
for anyone. Chose a destination that has the geographic features you find most
appealing. The beach, mountains, or urban landscape are all good choices.
3.
You work hard, you deserve some downtime. The advances in technology
have improved our lives in many ways. Communication technology such as e-mail
and smart phones have also made us much more accessible. Take a vacation from
you phone and your laptop too. In order to truly relax and unwind, think about
unplugging.
4.
There are so many places to see. The world is a vast and exciting place.
There are wonderful places to visit across the globe and closer to home.
Vacations are all about adopting a different mindset and opening yourself to
possibilities. A visit to a destination close to home as a tourist can be just
as exciting as a trip around the world.
5.
Life is short. This one is a bit cliché but nevertheless true. Vacations
are a wonderful time for self reflection. They can help you to refocus your
priorities. Vacations can bring out the best in you.
Steven
Gollihugh encourages everyone to consider putting some vacation time on your
calendar and start planning today.
